Summer Reads Scavenger Hunt!

My top 5 summer reads and a ridiculously good give-away!

Oh, summer, beautiful, beautiful summer. When, for 8 fabulous weeks, I don't have to wake up early, be in traffic for an hour (one way, mind you), and deal with work. Instead, I get to sleep until the glorious hour of 7:45am, entertain a 3 year old, and attempt to get my house clean enough to counteract the insanity of the last 10 months.

But I digress!

Summer is also the time for reading, lots ofs reading, lots and lots of reading. The best is when it's a gorgeous day outside and I can sit on my deck, happily half-lost in a book while my kiddo plays with her water table or splashes in her kiddie pool (although if the pool is out, I usually end up in with her, it's hot out here!)

What's on my list for this summer you say? Here we go!

1) Hopeless in Hotlanta - Dawn Pendleton and Magan Vernon

2) 21 Days - Bethany Lopez (okay, so I've already read this one, but I want to read it again
when I can actually read for more than 10 minutes at a time)

3) Dancing with Deception - Andrea Heltsley (LOVED Dancing with Death)

4) The Dream Slayer - Jill Cooper

5) Break You - Jennifer Snyder

Do you need something new to read this summer (or fall, or maybe when winter hits?) Well, then check out this ridiculously awesome give-away.

Lady of Steinbrekka Birthday Invitation!

That's right, my friends. In just a few short weeks, The Lady of Steinbrekka will be celebrating it's 1st birthday! What's a birthday without a party, and why should a party only be one day?

Instead of a one day celebration, we are going to have the entire month! You will be treated to a wonderful scavenger hunt, where you can learn different secrets and formerly unpublished facts about Kaldalangra. There will be door prizes in the form of an awesome give-away. There will be an opportunity to ask the author, (me) any question about the books, my writing process, or anything else you might have been wondering about! A couple of characters may even drop by for a little chat.

Be sure to check-in often during the month of August so you don't miss out on your chance to participate in the fun!

Better Nature Release Scavenger Hunt

I'm so excited to announce the release of Better Nature, the conclusion to the Forces of Nature Series.

Everything in Amelia Hoffman's life has led to this. An evil plot threatens to destroy humanity and the future of the human race lies in Amelia's hands. Working through the tensions between Otherworld species, torn between two men and squabbling with her siblings—all while trying to get a college degree. The pressure is a killer—literally. Does she have what it takes to save the world?

Where to buy: Amazon  B&N

Amelia has changed so much since we met her! Through all the ups and the downs, she has maintained her sense of humor and stays genuinely kind. All of her history is laid out for you in the Forces of Nature, but here are some facts that didn't make it into the book.

  • Though her summer activities varied over the last few years when we first meet her, Amelia played volleyball from the time she was old enough to be on a team. She played short stop and had a decent batting average.
  • Though she's a total neat freak, she's also sentimental and kept every card she'd ever received until forced to leave everything behind while on the run.
  • Wears speciel silk stockings at all times to prevent coming into contact with man-made things at school.
  • Went as Xander's date to Homecoming his Freshmen year.
  • Never returned to school, so she doesn't know that Nate broke the nose of a guy who made insinuations about Amelia's inappropriate behavior at the Halloween party. No one ever tells her about it.
  • Her favorite toy as a small child was Xander's old Hot Wheels race track.
  • Still has the stuff bunny her parents bought her when she was born. He sits on a shelf in her bedroom.
  • She hated balloons long before natural fibers are an issue for her. The sound, the smell, everything about them bothers her.
  • Had a string of goldfish for three years, all named after the Weasleys. Yes, the ones from Harry Potter. Despite what she says, she's read some paranormal stuff before the start of the series, she just won't admit it.
  • Never picked out her own Halloween costume until after she left Lincoln.
So there you have it,  ten facts about Amelia Hoffman that never made it into the books.

If you want to learn more about The Forces of Nature, you can find all three books on Amazon.

Natural Selection ~ Book One

What do you do when you find out your family isn't your family, death is knocking at your door, and that guy you can't stop thinking about knows more about who you are than you do?

Amelia Hoffman was just a normal 15 year old until she found out the truth. Now ancient myths, supernatural beings, and murder have changed everything. Tests and school dances are no longer the biggest worry in her life-- she has to figure out how to save everyone she loves and accept the future in front of her before its too late.

Available in paperback, Kindle, Nook and other formats.

Second Nature ~ Book Two

Amelia Hoffman always knew she would be with Nathaniel Peplow forever, but after they bonded everything started to go wrong. Nate treats her like the enemy, her siblings are in danger, and an old threat grows closer. As Nate pulls away and Amelia’s burgeoning friendship with a handsome stranger blossoms, she worries she made the biggest mistake of her life. If sorting out her love life wasn’t enough, a new drug emerges that not only threatens the ones she loves, but seems to be part of something larger than she could ever imagine. Amelia’s new and old friends must work together to not only save themselves, but the whole world.

Author Bio:
Elizabeth Sharp is a self-proclaimed techno geek, I live in a quiet subdivision with my husband, one-year-old son, and far too many cats. My addiction to Facebook is dwarfed only by my addiction to Dr. Pepper. She learned to read by the time she was three, thanks to her sister Theresa. Since she was always a storyteller, Elizabeth started writing as soon as she learned how.

A naturally crafty person, Elizabeth makes jewelry, sews, crochets, and crates digital art, when hse isn't chasing after a toddler. Her favorite holiday is Halloween, because it's the only day of the year you can be whatever you want to be.

You connect with Elizabeth through Facebook, Twitter or Goodreads.

Now for ways to win. check out Elizabeth's blog, where she has a Rafflecopter to win several amazing prize packs. Or follow this list of link to find and unscramble a nature quote by Albert Einstein.
